Hershey Garden: Monarch Butterfly

f/5.6, 1/4000, ISO 2500

I was originally going to post of a photo of a rabbit that was in the front yard yesterday, but instead I have this photo of a Monarch Butterfly from a sporadic trip we took. The family (mom, TJ, and myself) took a trip to Hershey Pennsylvania to visit the Hershey Garden and Butterfly House. It was out first time going, but we had a blast! There were so many flowers to take photos of and not to mention the beautiful butterflies. It was difficult to take pictures in the Butterfly House because I felt like I was in everyone’s way and there were a lot of children running around, so shooting conditions weren’t ideal. I did manage to take a few shots, including this one of the Monarch Butterfly sitting on a pink flower (please don’t ask me what the flower is, I have no idea!). The focus was on the front of the butterfly and the flower so the wings are a bit blurred–especially considering I was using the macro function of the lens. Still, not a bad shot none-the-less.
