First Snowflake | Day 43

f/5.6, 1/2000, ISO 3200

I cannot tell you how long I have been attempting to get a photo of a snowflake. With all the snow we have been getting lately, you would think that it would be easy, but getting a snowflake’s picture is not that simple. Finally I got the technique down, at least to some extent, and was able to capture this photo. It’s not as clear as I would like, but hey, it’s my first time coming anywhere remotely close to being able to take a picture of a snowflake. I’m going to keep trying as long as we’re getting snow and maybe one day I’ll be able to master the process of taking a picture of a snowflake. Practice makes perfect after all!

AnonymousNice image. I finally got a few nice snowflake shots by laying down a small piece of black velvet on a picnic table when I knew there was snow coming (I wanted the surface to be cold). Once the flakes started falling, it was just a matter of taking a lot of shots as they landed and hoping to get lucky. It worked out pretty well.ReplyCancel
