It’s been a little while since I posted a photo of a flower, so I figured it was time to post another to remind us of the beauty that is nature. This is one of the red tulips in the garden, but up close and personal. Thankfully it wasn’t too windy that day so the tulip stayed still long enough for me to snap this picture. I have to admit that I really like it and I’m proud of it. Hopefully there will be many more photos I’m proud of to come!

Don’t forget to feel free to leave me a comment with a critique of my photo or just to say “hello” any time. I love hearing from you!

There’s a diner not far from where I live that has some really tasty food in general. I’ve been going to there for breakfast more recently and the last time I went, I got this delicious Cinnamon Raisin French Toast. It’s drool worthy, to say the least. I’m honestly not a huge fan of raisins in general, but raisin toast and raisin French toast I can do. If you’re ever in my neck of the woods, I’d highly suggest checking out Diner 248. They have great food for a reasonable price (and no, I get nothing for that plug).

  • May 13, 2014 - 7:31 am

AnonymousI might be drooling on my keyboard right now! It’s funny, I feel exactly the same way about raisins. Pretty sure I would have no trouble finishing off this whole plate 😉ReplyCancel

    • May 13, 2014 - 7:44 am

AnonymousI’m glad I’m not the only one who feels that way! I thought I may just be a weird-o, haha. I think I did finish off that plate, I got the short-stack, so there were only 2. Maybe I should have gotten the bigger one so I could have had 3! Oh, fantastic, now my stomach is growling, lol.ReplyCancel

  • May 13, 2014 - 8:47 pm

AnonymousThat looks so delicious! Sometimes I get so excited for breakfast that I wonder if I’ll have trouble sleeping the night before.
I don’t love raisins but I might like them here.ReplyCancel

AnonymousI kept avoiding replying to your post because I knew I’d have to look at the picture again and it always makes me hungry, lol. My stomach’s growling already! It was so tasty though. Haha, I’ve done that too, get so excited knowing what delicious food I get to eat in the morning and can’t get myself to sleep.ReplyCancel

AnonymousThis looks MOUTH WATERING DELICIOUS! I love french toast but mine always comes out too dry 🙁ReplyCancel

    • May 17, 2014 - 7:46 am

AnonymousWhen I make French toast, I let it soak for a good while before cooking it in hopes that it doesn’t get too dry. Sometimes it doesn’t work out too well, but I use enough syrup that I can ignore it, haha. The French toast there, though, was just perfect and oh-so delicious!ReplyCancel

Happy Mother’s Day! Yes, yes, I know it’s not actually Mother’s Day, but because I take Sunday’s off from posting, so it’s a day late. Either way, this is my mother! She doesn’t like having her picture taken…ever, but I convinced her to let me to take some and after she picked the one she liked, I was able to convince her to let me post it here. My mother means a lot to me and I hope she knows that. She’s a beautiful person, inside and out.

I was just reminded by Steph from Life According to Steph about the Monday photo linkup with Kelli at She Crab Soup, which happens to have the prompt of “Mom” today! I’m going to start (consciously) participating myself and if you’d like to join me, make sure to check out the prompts up through July.

AnonymousI’m sure she knows how much you mean to her, but it’s always nice to say it. I don’t say it often enough!ReplyCancel

AnonymousI think she does, but yeah, it’s nice to reminder her sometimes too. 🙂 Thank you for commenting!ReplyCancel

  • May 12, 2014 - 9:35 am

AnonymousThanks for linking up! My mom hates having her picture taken too, I tried to take one at the restaurant this weekend and she hid behind the napkin holder. 🙂ReplyCancel

    • May 12, 2014 - 9:48 am

AnonymousIt’s incredible how creatives moms can be when it comes to hiding from the camera. My mother has hidden behind the dog before, I was impressed. She’s fast too! It took some convincing and I’m glad I could snap a photo of her yesterday. 🙂ReplyCancel

  • May 16, 2014 - 1:21 am

AnonymousMy mom doesn’t mind, as long as she’s ready – so, no surprise shots! 😀ReplyCancel

    • May 17, 2014 - 7:42 am

AnonymousI generally have to take surprise shots otherwise I wouldn’t get any, haha. Sometimes when she’s dressed up for a special occasion she won’t make as big of a fuss about it.ReplyCancel

Today is my graduation day. That’s right, after 22-years (yes, it’s been that long) of schooling, I have finally reached the point of my final graduation. I have no plans to go on to get my Ph.D. (or Psy.D.) at this point in time because I have finally reached the point that I can accomplish the goals I had put in place for myself when I was just 11-years old. As you read this post, I am probably at my graduation, getting ready to walk to my seat and soon (if the ceremony isn’t painstakingly long) walking across the stage to receive my degree in Couples, Marital and Family Therapy.

Congratulations to the class of 2014, we did it!

  • May 10, 2014 - 12:42 pm

AnonymousWoot! Congratulations!!! That’s awesome. Hope the ceremony was wonderful and not too terribly long for ya 🙂ReplyCancel

    • May 12, 2014 - 8:32 am

AnonymousThank you!! I’m SO excited to be done! The ceremony wasn’t too bad considering I was sitting with friends. It was about 2 hours, but it went pretty fast at least.ReplyCancel

If you’re wonder if my husband is really asleep in this photo, he is. I couldn’t help but take a photo of my sleeping husband, he just looked so peaceful. I image I’ll be doing this when I have children as well, but for the time being, he will have to do. Taking photos of people sleeping is not a new habit for me, I’ve been doing it for years. There’s something about the way someone sleeps, they just look so innocent. I know, this probably sounds extremely creepy, but I can’t help but enjoy the look on someone’s face when they’re fast asleep.

  • May 9, 2014 - 12:19 pm

AnonymousI love sleeping photos. They’re big in my family, we always take them.

    Have a great weekend!ReplyCancel

Since the move, I’ve had a lot more time to take photos of flowers and leaves. We had very little of this at the old house, so it’s a nice change of pace. One morning, I went outside with the dog to find this leaf with droplets of morning dew. I honestly cannot tell you how long it has been since I’ve seen a leaf like this and couldn’t help but take its photo.

Squirrels, we don’t have the best relationship. My mother’s not a real fan of squirrels because they have tendency to dig up her garden and it seems like things haven’t changed. As for me, squirrels are interesting creatures and honestly, I don’t really trust them. Those beady little eyes, that fluffy tale, that twitchy nose…not to mention one stared me down at school one day. It was kind of scary. Needless to say, I don’t look at squirrels the same way, despite having an urge to pet them whenever I see them.

  • May 7, 2014 - 9:40 am

AnonymousAws I love squirrels. I think they’re so cute but yeah the digging up the garden thing is not so darlin. I have a battle with one of mine over that.ReplyCancel

    • May 12, 2014 - 8:19 am

AnonymousWhenever I see a squirrel, I tell my husband to catch it for me. But yeah, digging up the garden is a not so good thing at all, haha. I haven’t seen this one recently, or any digging in the garden, thankfully.ReplyCancel

May flowers have finally begun to blossom and bloom. With the recent move, we weren’t sure if there would be any flowers, but to our surprise, the previous owners had planted tulips. There are a variety of colors and I’m sure if you follow me on Instagram, you probably spotted the white tulip photo I posted yesterday. There are more to come as they continue to grow. But don’t worry, if you’re now a flower lover, there will be different object photos coming soon as well. Stay tuned!

  • May 6, 2014 - 1:38 pm

AnonymousGorgeous! I love surprise flowers like that. Probably 4 years ago now I looked out my back window and spotted a cluster of red which really surprised me. I’ve not done anything in the back yard flower wise and lived in the house 11 years now and suddenly…tulips! I don’t know why they didn’t come up and bloom for those earlier years we were here but now they come up every year. So nice!ReplyCancel

    • May 12, 2014 - 8:18 am

AnonymousWow! Flowers are odd, aren’t they? They really do have a mind of their own! There’s another plant, apparently a butterfly plant, that looks like it’s dead. But my mom had someone over the other day who informed us that it’s actually still very alive. I have my fingers crossed that it blossoms, I’d love to see it in full bloom!ReplyCancel

AnonymousThat sounds awesome! One day I’m going to have to go to a flower festival of some sort. I feel like I always miss them and I know I’d love it. There’s one in Washington DC every year that’d I’d love to go to and not to mention the one in Disney. So many places to visit, I have to make some time, haha.ReplyCancel
