computer-habit

f/4.5, 1/50, ISO 800

Today’s prompt, we’re looking at our habits. One of my habits is, or course, going on the computer. My mother says it’s an addiction, but I think it’s a hobby and habit. I hop on the computer every day. It’s one of the first things I do in the morning and one of the last things I do at night. And of course, when I’m on the computer, I often check on Fel’s Photos. This is also a behind the scenes look at what goes on here.

What habits do you have? Maybe it’s a bit more of an addiction?

pastel-sky

f/5.6, 1/80, ISO2500

June 12th FMS Photo a Day Challenge’s prompt was pastel. When I first saw this prompt, I had no idea what I was going to pick. When I went out with a friend of mine and my husband, there was a beautiful sky outside when we finished with dinner. I could not help myself, but to take a new photo. I was so glad I had my camera with me, this pastel sky was absolutely gorgeous and I was able to capture it. I’m sure there will be more pastel skies to come and they will turn up on this photo blog and I hope that it turns out as beautifully as this one.

quirky-cat

f/2.4, 1/25, ISO100

My cat is quirky, to say the least, hence why I felt that he needed to be used for the FMS Photo a Day Challenge prompt. Though this photo does not seem quirky, considering where he actually is…well, let’s just say only he would do something as silly as this. After the move, there were/are boxes all over the place, which he loves. This particular box was actually on it’s side underneath another box. That’s right, my cat was desperate enough to get wiggle his way into the box. As my mother would say “He’s not right” meaning, he’s not right in the head, which is pretty much true. I still blame it on the fact that as a kitten he ran into closed doors…repeatedly. Silly boy.

What’s quirky in your life? What would you have taken a photo of?

trip-beginning

f/7.1, 1/50, ISO100

The June 11th prompt was “The Beginning.” I couldn’t have picked a better photo than the first one I shot when we were in Kentucky. This was taken from our hotel room right after we had gotten the room. It was a pretty nice view, to say the least and I had gotten a few other photos while there when the sun was going down especially. Despite the 10-12 hour long drive, depending on how often we stopped, it was a good beginning to the trip. In a couple of days, you’ll also get the opportunity to see the last photo of my trip, so stay tuned!

blossoming-flower

f/5.6, 1/200, ISO 100

There’s something peaceful to me about a blooming flower and watching it bloom and blossom in general. Today’s FMS Photo a Day prompt is probably pretty obvious at this point, peaceful. There are a lot of things that bring me peace different people, places and things. But this photo of the blooming flower stood out to me the most.

What brings you peace or makes you feel a sense of peace?

flying-plane

f/11, 1/400, ISO 100

It’s a bird…it’s a plane…it’s SUPERMAN! No…it’s actually a plane. June 10th’s FMS Photo a Day challenge prompt was flying. When in downtown Louisville, KY there were a lot of planes flying pretty low. This photo is one that was captured not by me, but by my husband. That’s right, TJ took this photo. It’s not too shabby in my opinion either. This photo was taken after a pretty long walk we took along the Ohio River. The plane is as close as it looks, it flew right above the building. I’m glad these pilots seem to know what they’re doing and didn’t fly too low.

waverly-shadow

f/8.0, 1/200, ISO100

While on my trip to Kentucky, one our of last stops was Waverly Hills Sanatorium. My husband and mother-in-law were ecstatic to visit, while my father-in-law and I…not so much. Let me tell you something about myself, I am not a huge fan of haunted things or supposedly haunted things. I love horror movies, but cannot deal with the real life stuff, for the most part. Call it a phobia if you will, but I am getting better with it. Either way, today’s FMS Photo a Day Challenge prompted is “In the Shadows.” While at Waverly, I was able to get this photo of the build while it was in the shadows of the clouds, which just made it even more spooky to go into. You’ll hear more about Waverly in future posts, I’m sure, but this is probably one of my favorite photos that I took while I was there.

What photo would you have taken to represent in the shadows?

home

f/7.1, 1/125, ISO 100

On June 9th, the FMS Photo a Day challenge prompt was “We live here.” There’s a rabbit home somewhere that I was trying to get a photo of, but I have no idea where it is that they put it. So, I went with taking a side shot of my own home. We recently moved into the new home, but didn’t want to give too much away about the house, obviously. You never know what kind of people may be checking out this site and I’d rather them not show up on my front doorstep. I’m sure the others that live with me would not be too happy about it either. But either way, this is were we live. Right now the flowers are blossoming, which gives the house a little pop of color as well. We still aren’t completely moved in, but we’re getting there. Speaking of unpacking, I should go do some of that myself!
